Marco Becht will investigate the "Effectiveness of Engaged Ownership"

Professor Marco Becht, the Goldschmidt Professor of Corporate Governance at SBS-EM, has been awarded £124,929 by Norges Bank Investment Management under the Norwegian Finance Initiative (NFI) Research Programme for 3 years to investigate engaged ownership. The grant is awarded jointly with Professor Julian Franks (London Business School), and Professor Hannes Wagner (Bocconi). The research will examine the effectiveness of engaged ownership by analysing the extent, impact and value of engaged ownership by Standard Life Investments (SLI) a global asset manager based on recorded data from the period 2004-2014.
