2012 Research Council Award (KUL) goes to Bram De Rock (SBS-EM)

Professor in Mathematical Economics at Ecares (SBS-EM) & Professor in Statistics at KULeuven, Bram De Rock is going to be awarded the 2012 Research Council Award for his work in the Humanities and Social Science Group of KUL.
The Research Council awards ceremony will take place on 25th of May.
Each year, KU Leuven awards promising researchers to recognise and stimulate their output.
Du 21 au 25 mai 2012, comme chaque année depuis déjà 42 ans, les Journées de Statistique vont rassembler chercheurs, enseignants et praticiens du monde francophone de la statistique. Cet évènement immanquable, qui a lieu chaque année dans un pays différents, revient pour la 4ème fois en Belgique. Pour cette nouvelle édition, c'est l'ULB et ses départements concernés qui se chargent de l'organisation.

Le département de Management Public du CEB (Centre Emile Bernheim) vous invite à sa journée de débat consacrée aux scénarios pour l'avenir de la justice pénale, le 25 mai 2012 de 9h à 17h30.
Venez débattre avec les auteurs de l'ouvrage de référence « La justice pénale en prospective, 6 scénarios à l’horizon 2020 » (Bruylant, 2011): Benoît Bernard, Anne Drumaux et Jan Mattijs.

Nicolas van Zeebroeck (SBS-EM) and Chris Forman (Georgia Tech College of Management) have sucessfully submitted their paper "From Wires to Partners: How the Internet Has Fostered R&D Collaborations Within Firms" to the scholarly journal Management Science.

In complement to his keynote speech given at the 2nd Solvay Schools Alumni Congress (15th of October 2012 - Save The Date!), the Anglo-Cypriot Christopher Pissarides, who is a professor at the London School of Economics, will give a guest lecture exploring the theme of work flexibility for the benefits of Solvay Schools students (ULB & VUB). This 6-hour guest lecture will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2012.
