OBJECTIVES

This 2-day course will look at how the financing structure of a company can affect its value. Indeed, when a firm needs to raise new funds to  invest in projects, it must decide which type of financing it will rely on. The module will focus on the considerations that should guide financing  decisions.

MODULE CONTENT

■ Be familiar with the differences between asset (leasing, factoring, etc.), equity and debt  financing

■ Understand the financing needs and financial  impact of the financing structure

■ Understand the use of the WACC

■ Be aware of capital structure fallacies

■ Appraise the tax benefits of debt and its limits
